Our motorhome is based on a Iveco Daily. Being very new to MH-ing and still getting top grips with all the different aspects,is there anything I should be aware of or look out for on this type of chassis ?

Depends where you are I guess, had to offer or been asked a few times. On each occasion it has not been a major problem as we have not had the awning up or have been leaving a site at the same time.

Good luck with the Iveco and Motorhoming, what model and engine output have you?

Trev.

"what model and engine output have you? "

I hope this makes more sense to you than it does me Smile
It's a 3L turbo diesel 166hp 60 C 17. I see lots of info on other types of vehicle but very little on the Iveco, I'm hoping that that means there are loads of completely satisfied owners !

Hello,

I'm pleased to see another Iveco Daily owner in the pack! Welcome!
I recently drove my new Concorde built on such a chassis around Europe for 5,000 miles and was absolutely delighted with it. Got 17 mpg ave. over varied terrain and speeds. Hope to improve this as the engine 'loosens up.'

Mine is the uprated 65 C18 version with Agile 6 speed auto gearbox. What is yours?

It's a good chassis. I hope you enjoy it.

It's a 6 speed manual, we've not had it long but last weekend whilst driving back I overtook a line of trucks, I was really suprised how fast the thing went with very little effort. we take of for Europe next month for about a year, we're hoping to get at least 18mpg.

If you DO have a problem, you can call Iveco UK and they will depatch a service engineer to you at the roadside. I had to do this once, in Portugal (false alarm - warning light) and was amazed at how efficient they were. I'm assuming you are still in warranty.

Regardless, have a fun trip.

Hi Again John
The only main faults with the N&B Flairs is on the Fiat front wheel drive & Iveco rear wheel drive based vans it is advisable to carry a set of quick release chains for wet grass. Because they are a heavy van the MPG does not cope well with speeds much higher than 60mph so do expect sub 20mpg, any of the Flairs can go in excess of 80mph as you will no doubt find out in Germany.
I am going to Polch to have some work carried out on my van next week, then on to Bavaria if you see the MHF flag in the windscreen pump the horn.
Have a safe trip
