We carry a seperate battery and inverter. And use a 240v hair styler which is only 650watts on full and 400watts on low. Other option is a genny.

We use a normal hair dryer in the motorhome whilst we are hooked up to the electric.

The only thing we do is ensure the heating system and the kettle are both switched off. We've managed to trip our electrics once by forgetting to turn the kettle off first.

I hope you have many happy holidays in your new motorhome. Welcome to the forum.

Hi

I agree with Dave certainly wait until you decide what sort of camping you do but don't buy a 12v hairdryer they are useless. We got an inverter and bought a 470 watt travel hairdryer which works really well and doesn't drain the batteries as much as we expected.

At over 40 amps small capacity batteries will last around 1.5 hrs providing the wiring and fuses will stand it) only if fully charged and usually they are not.

Large wattage inverters need to be connected directly to the battery.
