Thanks dipsticks,
I'll have to print off your instructions and take them with us next time but I need to clarify a few points.
Bearing in mind we have not erected this awning for at least 10 months I am finding it hard to visualise carrying out your instructions as I can't remember the exact construction but I do remember fighting with these b****y great long poles.
Are you suggesting that we disconnect the elastics at a point where the uprights meet the roof? Is this point obvious?(I can't remember.) When the person gets inside do you already have all roof sections and two uprights in place to make one complete pole corner to corner?
We can't use the straps as I remembered whilst reading through your post that our straps go right over the middle of the Heki.
Thanks for your help. I'm almost looking forward to trying the awning again now.
Lesley
Lesley I'm attaching a picture cropped off just below the joint where we separated the uprights fron the top section, we did just one end of each pole assembly but will separate the other upright end when we next use it.
That way only the top roof sections have to be threaded through the fabric and when lifted up from the inside the awning takes shape and the second person just plugs on the uprights and clips them into the base. Its always a bit scary bending them into place and it is sometimes neccessary to slide the roof section a little to make sure the roof is central.
I would'nt reccommend putting up an awning at all if it is too windy.

It depends on the type you get. I would not put one up that could not stand up to wind. One like the pic attached stays up though. I have this for sale so get your offers in. Pm me
