Roy,
I have sent a pm.

Just to explain to everyone, I am not in business in any kind, but my job means that I have very early visibility of this type of product (Set top boxes, TVs etc) and get to understand them inside out.
I have been heavily involved with freesat and remain so. I am also heavily involved with DigitalUk and Digital Switchover. I do not work for any of these concerns but do provide support for them. I also provide support for Set top boxes and flat panel tvs through internal and external sites for an extremely large retailer.
I am pleased to give general assistance through the forum and will answer pms where possible.
Gerry

I reckon its better to wait a while for more choice on freesat receivers - I cant understand why they launched the service as there we. re only a few receivers on offer as stated you need the programming guide in order to plan ahead your viewing. I have been told that Humax are producing a receiver with two LNB inputs and a built in PVR for sale later this summer which will be great if the price is right. It will suit me as my reception of freeview through the aeriel here in Dorset is unreliable with the picture constantly breaking up. but I'll stick to lidls receiver in the camper which works fine.

Can anyone help please. We have a Maxiview digital satellite receiver in our van. It picks up the Astra 2 channels fine, but is this "freeSat"?

If not, I have seen advertised the Humax freesat receiver, but it is only a 240 volt powered one, is there a 12 volt box out there and if so where are they? Thanks

I'd suggest you start a new thread - it's more likely to attract help if you put "Help required with ......"

Dougie.
