Hi;

On the frontpage I notice we now have an additional 5 stickies at the top for rallies and meets, then below all the recent posts we go straight into a full list of all forthcoming rallies/meets, then campsite database info below all this...

I fully understand the desire to promote the rally/meet program on MHF but I also think that the promotion of the campsite database is equally important but this is in a much less prominent position below all the rally info.

Just a suggestion, but I wonder if it would be more balanced if the campsite database block was placed above the rally/meets block giving (imo) a fairer balance to both facilities ?

Surely campsite data bases and rallies etc are for the very small minority?
Don't the vast majority come here to actually read the threads? Wink

Hi EJB;

I wouldn't say a small minority but take you point and yes, the forums are probably the most used aspect of the site.

I'm just commenting on the unequal balance of the remaining info on the front page.

It's not a critiscism, just a personal observation, there's so much info on the front page, it must be an awkward juggling act to get it right but at the moment I reckon that the campsite database could do with a bit more prominence to encourage more entries.

Hi Pete

I think it's just a case of Nuke wanting to promote specific aspects of the site at a particular time. As you know, he's just spent a lot of money on a stand and vehicle to enhance the MHF presence at show rallies so naturally he will want to promote that activity ATM. Also having just appointed several new rally staff, rallies are currently an aspect he's trying to develop.

No doubt it will be the turn of other sections of MHF as they come into the spotlight.

i think Ken has hit the nail on the head, but i will re-iterate it

You can't have everything taking prominence on the front page lol so i try to vary it depending on the season, other external influences.

The busiest aspect of MHF is the forums and that is fact, but there are also quite a few motorhomers out there that use campsites and like to socialise at rallys Ted Wink

Hi

I confess, that as a regular user, I have until recently made little - if any - use of the campsite database. I have, in the past few weeks, added a few sites to the list. It is a very useful tool. Many sites have been listed and some have had a second review added. I think this section of MHF deserves a bit more "special treatment"; like the forums, the more people who use the database, the better it will be for all.
