MacDonalds now offer free wifi from almost all its joints in France.

Better still, there is no security and you can easily logon from the road outside, get and send your mail, Skype a few friends, visit the forum all without having to eat their revolting food! Very Happy

I was so excited when I read the title of your topic.

"Free WiFi ALL OVER FRANCE."

WOW!

Must be some clever satellite system, or even something given out by all the mobile masts or power lines or.... the mind boggles!

Then I came down to earth with a bump.

I wonder what geographical percentage of France is covered by the McDonalds WiFi.

Sorry, I'm having a bad morning - the info is actually very welcome indeed.

As long as you don't have to eat their stuff then it seems a good deal. I did have a Grand Mac once over there as mentioned in one of my holiday bits and I was quite convinced that the standard of presumably the same product as in UK was considerably higher. Not only was it edible but really tasty. May be all in the mind I suppose.

Are you sure you weren't in an Aberdeen Angus steak bar?

We had a terrible fight last night.....my wife asked me what was on the TV and I said "dust".

I treat every day as if it was my last. One day i will be right.

Agree with Brimo. Although its advertised, a lot of McD's in England don't have wi-fi. its up to the manager.
To all those who love to knock McD's we have a very upmarket restaraunt near us, very expensive and the food was rubbish. I quite like a burger and fries now and again, you can get a good or bad meal anywhere.
Cheers Sid

We find the free Wifi service provided by French public libraries to be perfectly adequate with, usually, very helpful staff to guide you through the mysteries of the French language if required. No temptation to buy a tasty/revolting Big Mac or anything else for that matter! You can even use your own laptop which makes life even easier.
