does anybody know if you can fit a fiamma security door lock / handle to a 1991 hymer b644 ,there is not alot of room inside the door next to the cabinetary and instead of trial and error and making a mess, I want to be sure.
I would appreciate any help here,
Thanks

Hi Rob,
I was looking at those a few weeks back, to fit to my B564 [1993]
The prime reason though, was for assistance for my wife getting out of the van [due to a slightly dodgy knee and the height of the single step] not as a security feature. A guy at a local caravan shop said "why not fit a caravan pull handle?" Although he didn't sell them, another one did. £2.99, fitted in 5 minutes, to the inside wall adjacent the door lock and clear of the cooker unit. Works a treat.
Any help?
Regards
Dave |

I fitted one on my B654, but remember the old saying " Measure twice, cut once" - very important when doing this with regards to the back plate etc.

The Fiamma safe door lock does not require a back plate. The bracket is screwed to the door frame inner edge and the door hides the screws when closed. There are 2 types of safe door lock, back plate and none back plate.
Must point out these are not the handle type just security locks. Missed the handle bit on original post. |
