My 2007 Tracker EK went in for its water ingress 'fix' and 3 outstanding recalls today. I won't go into the saga of why the van wasn't ready (or work not even started) when I returned to pick it up, but after a bit of urgency was applied, the van was 'fixed' in just about 2 hours.
This evening I tested the van (watering can) and it still leaks like a sieve. There is no visible sign of any sealant anywhere, that I can see but there may be a new piece of ineffectual foam in the centre join of the scuttle. So, water still gushes into the engine compartment from at least 3 places. The scuttle join is the worst, but not by much.
The nearside leak looks like water is getting in from behind the scuttle (between it and the windscreen) because I cant see any holes in the scuttle above or close to where that particular leak is.
The main difference now is that the water getting through the centre join hits the new engine cover before draining off down the front of the engine. I was made to feel grateful that the garage had pulled out all the stops to get my van fixed quickly but I'm a tad disillusioned.
So, is this the same quality fix everyone else has had or is waiting for or have I been short changed?

We had ours done at the beginning of the year and all is watertight and stainfree. It was done by a Fiat commercial garage who have been dealing with Fiat since the 1950s and who take a lot of pride in getting things right and, I rather think, have a good idea which buttons to press to get heard.

We had initial fix done in January, however as you know this failed to work, water still entered the engine bay, they had fitted an engine cover. So after van went in for second time end of march, when we got it back gav took off oil cap thingy and lo and behold there was rust forming again round injectors!!! Obviously this means that if they do not stop water getting in from scuttle it does not matter if there is a cover as the water gets in under this anyway.
Pic enclosed.

Hi
I would consider that your dealer has not completed the work in accordance with the bulletins issued by Fiat,, the windscreen should have a silicone type seal applied between it and the scuttle, there are 2 small holes in the recess where the wiper arms come through, these should be now enlarged to about 10mm, stop wipers in vertical position to check. Also the chemical they use to remove the rust from around the cam cover and injectors and the subsequent application of rustproofing treatment takes around 4 hours to complete if done correctly.
Check some posts, others have done their own fixes, which are effective at stopping the vast majority of the water getting in.
Call Fiat again and tell them the fix has not worked and get another incident/case number from them, ask them what work was authorised for your MH and the likely timescale needed to complete correctly, follow up with a written complaint to them if the work should have taken longer than the 2 hours taken by your dealer.
