I am thinking of getting our motorhome waxoyled, it is only 8 months old, the underneath is covered in road salt & already showing signs of rust.
So I thought it would be a good idea to protect our pride & joy as this will be the only motorhome we will be able to afford.
I was looking at the "Rustmaster" & "before and after" websites and was wanting any recommendations/comments good or bad on these or any other company's, or any comments on waxoyling.
Any help would be much appreciated

PS just having a play with the Poll for the first time, hope it works.

Paul

I have not had mine done but could be tempted but have no feel for cost of getting it done.

I would be happy to do it myself but would be worried that I might miss something essential or spray it somewhere I shouldn't.

If you get the info on costs I would be interested

Ed

The Ford Transit chassis of ours has thick crinkly "paint" on the box girders underneath.

Already there is rust discolouring it in places.

I don't like the look of it.

Is it an anti-corrosion warranty issue?

Would waxoil get in between the metal and the protective covering to prevent further (hidden) rusting?

Hello, my local gararge always waxoyles a vehicle as part of it's service, my first waxoyl without service cost £25, I myself, get any vehicle I own waxoyled as it seems to prolong the chassis condition (providing it is good to start with!) hope this helps.

It's good stuff, and to answer a previous question it will creep in anywhere and prevent further rusting. It's just wax, dissolved in a volatile carrier, and in this warm weather it will get in the tiniest crack.

Only problem - it's bloody mucky if you have to work on any treated parts of the van at a later date.

Had my Benimar done from new even though on an alko chassis. If you can get the underside steam cleaned so much the better. My van was done by heating oil in spraycan until liquified then sprayed into every nook and cranny.Yes it is messy and yes you get dirty hands especially if you need to get under your van but it is worth its weight in gold. Not everybody can get the use of a spray booth and you definately need protective masks etc. 5litres is about £25 and can be clear or black Have 5 litres in my garage if anyone is interested making an offer! You don't need to pay the earth for this treatment, shop around and good luck.
