Smaller starter battery?

Thinking about a new starter battery i've been looking at recommended sizes by vehicle and they are coming up bigger than the one that was fitted by Trigano (or the dealer?).Is it known to be a common practice to fit a smaller battery to reduce the weight and/or cost?

Fiat fit all sorts, one never knows until the vehicle arrives. Go for the bigger one providing it fits.
