Hi Chaps - looking at buying a Carri Chef, but having trawled the net i keep finding the eazi chef being listed as having a fat collector (drip tray), but haven't found this mentioned for the Carri Chef,

Can anyone answer if they both have this feature?

I think that's the outer ring is the bit that collects the run off, but I've only used mine once, Ash or Geo are the resident Cadac chefs, they may help! Laughing

Hi. We have the Carri Chef, it collects all the fat and run off in the outer ring. Have had ours a year and very pleased with it and the support from Riversway Leisure where we bought ours. We had a problem with the griddle and they replaced it no problem. Also seems very easy to keep clean too. (I do the washing up!)

Hi,

We have the Carri Chef and it has a large outer section that collects all the fat lost in cooking process, have to say we have twice had it caught fire but maybe we just buy cheap burgers and end up with too much fat.

Would also recommend Riversway for price and service, we once went to a camping shop to look for some and the guy there said he didn't sell them as his mate who owned Riversway had so many good deals that no one could compete with them.

Having said that Andy who likes to save pennies when he can, decided we needed another one as the control fitting on ours had gone. So he orders one from the net and it arrives a week later after being told it was next day delivery, (riversway are next day or 2 day) but with no flat reversible pan, so I ring up " oh don't know how that happened will get another one in post to you for tomorrow , that was last Tuesday, so rang Friday, "oh they haven't come in yet, I will ring you later today as they are due in today." as you can guess I am still waiting.

Will try and find the name for you to avoid. Had the first one 5 years and no problems with it.

Mandy

- as we apparently live 10 miles from their shop we were able to collect and save the postage, making it cheaper than anywhere we found online (their postage should have been about a fiver)

looking at the site they seem quite reasonable, the shop is also quite good and i'm sure some things were cheaper in the shop Shocked

Hi Mark,

Yes, caravanonlineshop.co.uk (also known as Fourways) are very good on prices. We paid the same price as you from Riversway Leisure plus postage and then Fourways opened up just up the road from where we live but never mind.
We have since purchased quite a few items from them and the service as been very good.

I have just bought a Carri Chef from Riversway. Fat gathers in outer ring as mentioned and it's easy to clean. Very easy to use - its first outing was cooking for a party of 55 last weekend. I used it from 3pm until 10 pm and it was great. Thoroughly recommend it.
