Before the 'big trip' (http//web.mac.com/adventuresoftl) I'm going to get another leisure battery fitted to the 'van. I remember hearing (??I think) that I need to get one that is the same, and yes there is plenty of space to put it. I don't know how 'identical' the extra battery would need to be. The make I have in already is a German 'Bayern Batterie' 12 volt 100Ah. What do people recommend? Thanks in advance for your advice.

There has been a lot about this on the forum already, but the basics are:
The batteries should be the same age, don't fit a new battery alongside an old one.
They should be the same output, 2 x 100ah is fine provided that your charging system can handle it.
They must be connected in parallel, + to +, - to -.
The supply to the vehicle should be from + on one battery and - on the other.
I hope this helps.

Alec

Ensure that they are also the same type ie Lead Acid or Gel and as already stated make sure your charger is up to the job
