i have vista basic, but when someone sends me a word doc or a powerpoint show then my computer won't read it i get a flash up that says use set asociations but i am lost none of my friends use vista. please help. Embarassed

When I had this problem (no nothing about working of computers) my son in law loaded Microsoft word onto my computer, then I was able to open Documents. Hope this helps

As Charlie says, do you have these progammes on your PC?

Otherwise you cant open them, You need Microsoft office which will include word and powerpoint as well as publisher and excel.

(not that I know anything about PC's) Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
