Hello,

I am trying to get an old Windows ME PC to attach to my Novell Network Server running on DOS Novell 3.32.0.0 SP2.

I cannot remember what I have to log on as first;

Client for Microsoft Networks
Microsoft Family Log On
Novell Netware Client

or Windows Logon.

So I then can connect to the server using Novell

Anyone?

Trev.

He thinks that first windows login, then family login, then client networks and finally novel network, however he did say that Windows ME does stand for Windows "Many Errors", so be prepared to have a few attempts first and no, throwing the computer does NOT help with the login process

Hello and thanks Vardy,

No joy though, have tried different sequences. not sure how many there can be with four options. Still trying though!

I hate Novell, more complicated than a Spaceship.

should be windows, then novell, i don't see any reason in your original post for any other way

ME is not the networkable version of windows though - might need 2000, long time since i did operating systems not xp or vista based though so you might want to see what others think

ME was meant for the pre-network home use only really with most networking neutered or removed - despite being sold as a replacement for home users on Windows 98...

Think you're onto a loser here unless you get really lucky!

Best wishes

Hello and Thanks David.

I do have another PC running ME that works fine with the server.

My problems have been that the older PC's we use connected to the server are starting to die off, cooked chips, corrupted hard drives etc. I do have another win98 PC but I am having trouble with that too, not enough memory to run the dos programs. config.sys and autoexec.bat issues.

Trev.
