Well as most of you know my own wife has beaten off Cancer and survived and so Cancer Research is a charity that is dear to me.
I have walked the Great Wall of China (Well not all of it but 2 weeks worth lol), I have driven to the Gambia from Plymouth and now I am starting off with something a little less adventurous but a lot more exertion involved lol
I have entered myself in for the Forthcoming (Sept) Bristol 1/2 Marathon. Now I am quite out of shape so have been training hard for the last 3 weeks and up to 5 mile outings now, and I have another 13-14 weeks to get up to 13.1 miles
If that wasn't bad enough, the Bristol half marathon takes place on the same weekend as the Shepton Mallet Motorhome show which I will be attending representing MHF with a trade stand. So i am going to have to get a few helpers to run the stand on Sunday morning, get up v early and drive from Shepton Mallet to Bristol, run 13 miles, get back in car, do stand until close of day, pack up and then drive all the way back home !!!!
I am aiming for £2000 raised for Cancer Research and have a Just Giving page all setup that can take online sponsorship here:

Please, Please, Please make this all worthwhile and sponsor me, every little helps and those of you who have been touched by cancer will know that the treatment is hard, but it is life saving and without more research millions will have to endure chemo and radiotherapy when other more viable alternatives are just waiting to be found by scientists funded by charities.
As an aside to this, our very own BognorMikes wife is also doing a charity run as follows:
Mrs Bognormike (Viv) is doing the Race for Life on 13th July at The Weald & Downland Museam near Chichester with our daughter Tracey. It will be a year and a day since her operation, and to celebrate her recovery, T thought it would be a good idea to do the run (or walk, as the case may be!). see the following link:

When you get your race number will you post it? If you do I'll keep an eye out for you on race day, nothing like a little bit of heckling to make you run quicker .
No I'm not running but my father is running for the 5th time.

Interested to see you did the Banjul Challenge. Have just been accepted for the run this year.
Getting all sorts of information on what to take, but, as someone who's done it, what did you take that wasn't necessary, and what didn't you have that you should have?

Its a catch all i.e. do you take loads of spares for your car or not, we certainly used some of ours (Split water pipe, Spare wheel (Shattered an alloy on an outcrop of underwater rocks on the beach section), suspension spring)
We did however had a set of all 3 ECUs (We did it in an old 7 series beemer) and never had to use one, but if one had gone what would we have done
