hi you all,
i have a 1984 transit autohome and am having a problem trying to find the part for the end of my speedo that conects to the gear box, i have tried my local ford dealer but they say the gear box is not a ford box, so i`am asking if anybody knows of other gearboxes that have been fitted to transits.
thank you. :? :?

The transit ihas been customised in many ways engine wise, but never heard of a gear box swop, ie a few years ago people used to shoehorn V8s into the diesels, but kept the g/box. Think your only option is to find a garage who does a lot of vans and who has a broad knowledge of whats around rather than the limited product knowledge of the Ford dealer and see if they recognise whats in it.
Can you see any iD marks on the gearbox casing ?
