All

just a sanity check - and apologies if it's been asked before ..

I have 2 gaslow LPG bottles and an auto changeover valve (the one that changes from red to green when a bottle is empty).

To refill (one or both) is it just a case of turning the normal valves off on the bottles and filling? Do I need to turn the auto changover valve in any particular way?

And is it filled when the LPG gun stops?

Thanks

srd, forget the changeover valve just turn off both bottles keep your hand on the pump until it stops filling and it's done, use the bottles in turn when full too keep the valves working (if not used regularly on one bottle the valve will stick shut)

Turn the changeover valve to the bottle you are using, thats it.

Bob

Hi

I do not think it is possible to fill just one cylinder.

I concur (hells' bells where did I get that word from) with what Bob says above.

This may seem a stupid question, but why do you have to switch off the bottles before you refill them? I thought the idea of an external fill point was so that you do not have to open the locker to get to the bottles before filling!

You do not have to close off the built in tanks before filling, or was I doing that wrong with my last van?

Normal practice is to shut gas valves before travelling, so they should be shut prior to refilling anyway.

On our van we can use the gas when travelling to heat the water and the habitation area. It depends on which regulator you have fitted.

you are correct about tanks, if is the RED TANK for domestic use only as tank like this has liquid protection tube - protected take off valve - so no liquid gas will enter the regulator when you fill or when you travel.
there is also a refillable bottles with liquid protection tube, but not all of them.
