In the past I have bought DELL machines, but as has been said if you intend upgrading from MoBo level, DELL are not standard cases (or didn't used to be).
My present machine is a MESH. It was good value, and is well and tidily built. It also has a 3 year on-site warranty.
I would buy from them again - provided it was a good value as this one was when I bought it.

Mesh have had a good rep for several years now,
I have an evesham - wouldn't have another if they paid me, altho staff are great - have become very friendly with engineers covering nw and ne!
recently had to contact Dell after sales about this laptop - bought 7 years ago and they were really good. so on balance I would go dell again
but unfortunately it seems to be very variable - luck of the draw and all that!
would love to be able to afford a mac !!

Mesh have always been good and also Dan Technology but they disappeared somewhere probably because they were a tad pricey but did supply top quality components.

hi mandy & dave
we bought all our pc`s etc from novatech.co.uk they are based in portchester near potsmouth and are 5star in my opinion ,they were voted best online retailer if the year last year. they offer better deals than dell on the equipment side and they are always up gradeable.unlike dell which sell redundent pc`s at cheap price not current units at a good price!
there tele sales are nowledgeable and helpfulland always reply to e-mail look at there web site , happyhunting its a lion`s den out there

If anyone needs components for their pc, or blank cds/dvds etc - then be sure to check out www. ebuyer.co.uk.
Very cheap on most stuff - lots of pc builders buy from them - but they sell to everyone.
I used to build pc's as well - but got fed up with people always wanting a reduction on an already competitive price - but thats human nature of course.
Happy Travels
Dave
