We've been having a lovely time in Italy but unfortunately we are having to come back early from our trip because my husband needs an operation on a dislocated shoulder. This will be in Nottingham and probably be in September and we need somewhere for him to recuperate after the operation (probably two weeks).
Does anyone know of places where we could hire a static caravan/ holiday flat in the Nottingham/Lincoln area please?
All we need is a one bedroom place where there is easy acces to a shop for groceries etc.
PS. Sending this from a great campsite in Versaille - so its not all bad!! Just got here from the best site we've ever been on called Les Rive du Lac on the shores of Lake Annecey.

Hi Steph,

If you'd like somewhere rural but not too far from civilisation, have a look at

which is about 6 miles out of Lincoln on the east side, right on the River Witham, with a shop and a good pub (Tyrwhitt Arms, pronounced TIRRIT). The only thing I'm unsure of is whether or not you can rent a static - I know the site mainly comprises of retired owners - but I think you can.

It's on my "patch", so if you do get fixed up, let me know, and I'll drop in.

Dougie.

No probs. I'm working Lates tomorrow, so I'll drop in on them if I get half a chance, and see what's what. It's a lovely spot - big site, but well laid out & very idyllic with the river etc. I often stop on the causeway near the bridge during a nightshift & listen to..... absolutely nothing. Smile One of my favourite chill-out spots.

Dougie.

Hi

I live in Nottingham. I will be away for a couple of weeks in September.

York MH show 18/9 - 21/9 and Poole 23/9 -27/9. You can stay here if you wish. Not posh but clean and comfortable on the banks of the River Trent about 20 minutes drive from the hospital or you can get the hospital bus.

Not a caravan site just a 3 bedroom semi. I have 2 dogs but they will be away with me.

Just a thought.

Cheers Maggs

I've just been looking for campsites in Nottingham and came across this nice sounding site, which also has a holiday cottage to let. The site and owners get favorable reviews and there is a bus stop close to site entrance. It may be suitable for your needs.
Have a look

Off topic but, we drove up the side of Lake Annecey last month and having just done Garda we weren't too impressed. Annecey was a lovely place to walk around.
