Hi
I've had mine and its basically plug and play. I used it in London where it was very speedy and also at home to test it where it was also fine. The proof willbe if I can use it at my Mothers in Ireland.

Hi Mike
Thanks for that - I actually checked on 3 ireland as she lives in the republic. It looks like she should get it I may have to hang the dongle out the window but I will give it a go next week when I'm there. It also comes out of the allowance and its not extra.

Got mine today, unfortunately signal too weak. Only getting 10k max download speed! Could only get one bar to light up on the connection software.

Tried with, and without the supplied cable, (which is supposed to speed things up, according to the documentation).

According to the connection coverage, I should be able to receive the new high-speed connection, so if you're considering purchasing this device, don't build your hopes up if the map says your area is supported, unless you live quite near to a network mast.

Totally agree. Go careful and don't trust the map. Friend of mine lives in a city centre and was told coverage was up to HSDPA speeds. He very rarely even gets 3G in his house, but 20 yards up the road is full signal.

Dont believe the maps... they are far from detailed enough.

I got mine today and have same problem, only two sticks on but we are in a bad area for most mobiles so will try it out in the car tomorrow. I only want mine to use when we are away in the MH anyway.

I've been reasonably pleased with mine so far.

From home I get a HSDPA signal most of the time with download speeds up to about 1meg. Upload is not brilliant (usually up to 50k) but not as important. When on the road I've managed to get at least a 3G signal everywhere so far, even slightly off the beaten track. Even with one bar showing on signal strength the service is useable. I find that if things slow down, disconnecting then connecting again often sorts it out. You can also edit the profile in the software to reject anything other than a HSDPA signal if your in a HSDPA area.

Another tip is to dangle the dongle out of the window, this can make a big difference. The lead with the double USB plug doesn't make any difference, presumably it's just for older PCs where the USB power is low.
