Hi all
The speedo on my Hymer / Merc 410D has decided to jump to 110k and stick. This happened whilst quietly sitting on the drive refusing to start. Well now it starts but it would be very useful to know what speed I am doing. Also the headlights are LHD units with tape on them. Does anyone have the above parts that they would like to sell or if not can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain some. I haven't dared ask MB for a price in case it induces an early coronary arrest on my part.
Thanks in advance
Keith

keith,

You could try HymerUK or Peter Hambildon at www.friendlyhippo.co.uk/Hymer Direct or Dirk or Inez at www.DMIUK.com at Deepcar.

On the headlights I understand but am not certain that your headlights should be OK. It is UK vehicles that have the problem of lights being wrongly aligned - something to do with the highbeam low beam set up.

good luck

Barry

Thanks Barry.
I fear that Hymer direct and others will be just as scarily priced, but I will contact them just for the info value. Never know I may be pleasantly surprised??

Hello Keith
Merc part are no dearer than any other commercial vehicle and in some cases cheaper but don't go to Hymer go to a Merc commercial dealer.

Thanks for the replies chaps, I have been scouring the scrappies and been offered more hens teeth and rocking horse dung than Merc speedo heads. I will continue, however in the meantime if anyone stumbles across one can you give me a shout please.
Many thanks

Hi Keith

Try Dronsfields Mercedes, for new and used spares. Phone 01457 871717 aks for Steve in commercial spare. Very helpful and reasonably priced.

regards

Geoff

Very Happy Very Happy Thanks Geoff, called Dronsfield today, got out the plastic thingy, and I should have the speedo by Wednesday. Many thanks for your help. Unfortunately they didn't have a Mercedes auto gearbox inhibitor switch, so now the search is on for one of these too.
Thanks again

Hi all
Right, the speedo arrived and one of the mounting bolts had come adrift so I pulled the speedo head apart and sorted it, at the same time I reset all the numbers to zero, figured I had the old broken speedo for reference and I had only done about ten miles with no speedo so it's pretty accurate. All is now well in the speed department.
Regarding the headlight lenses, I looked on GSF website under Merc 410 and no lenses to be found, so I am still looking chaps.
Many thanks
Keith
