not sure if we should actually be here as we dont own a motorhome just yet but are hoping to shortly......we are just after some friendly advice from people who are in the know!

We are Lindsay (male!) Paula and Bethany plus 2 dogs sandy (cocker spaniel) Maya (lhasa apso pup) hence the 3 plus 2. We live in NE scotland just north of Aberdeen pretty much in the middle of knowhere. Looking to buy a motorhome and thinking of the swift kon tiki 660. prob a 2003 ish model for our budget. Just wondered if its a good choice or would our £25k budget be better spent on something else.

We are open minded to anything but like something that has a spacious feel inside, had a swift lifestyle with an l-shaped lounge a few years back but have a hankering for something a bit bigger so we can go abroad for a month at a time in the summer with room for us all!

any advice welcome Very Happy

A warm welcome from me also in sunny scotland!! I am not sure what layout the 660 is but I would make sure there are enough belted seats for you all to travel safely. They do say that you are only truly happy after your third van and that certainly was true for us!!!!

I hope you enjoy the site as it is fantastically addictive, also am hoping to organise a rally somewhere is Scotland and you would be most welcome.

Thats true, not that many motorhome dealers in Scotland at all. Which ones have you looked in so far?? We had some warranty work done to our van by Capital Motorhomes in Fife, even though they did not sell it to us. David who runs it is a lovely guy. Maybe too far for you to travel though! Good luck with your search. Any other advice just ask.

thanks.....we have kinda decided that we've missed most of this year anyway so would be better to do our research now and be in a position to buy early next year, vans will all be a year older so may be able to get something slightly newer and also advised that buying out of season could be better for us.

and thanks carol didn't know about the fife one we are going to have a look at Pershire caravans next week as we are off to Glasgow so can have a look on the way down as its still a couple of hours away otherwise.

Hi 3plus2,

Welcome to MHF.

There's a Kontiki (02 or 03) at a car dealers on the left of the A96 just going into Elgin.

Haven't checked it out but looks tidy from the road.

Cheers,
Alan
