Hi all

We too live in Scotland, in the beautiful Scottish borders. Although originally from Co. Antrim we have been here for 9 years.

My wife Helen and I (Sam) have just paid the deposit on a new Autoquest 130 and expect to take delivery in a week or so.

We are excited and aprehensive in equal measures since we are both retired and have never driven anything the size of even a weeish motorhome. However we had been caravanners for about 30 odd years up until about 4 years ago when we gave up touring. BUT the urge never goes away and so we decided to join the motorhomming fraternity.

We enjoy the forum and have had some useful advice already.

Sam

Hi

Welcome to MHF from the Rally Team, perhaps we'll see you on one of our rallies when you get your motorhome. I hope you get years of pleasure from it as we all have.

I have to say that as a newby to motorhoming subscribing to this site would be the best £10 you'll ever spend, the wealth of knowledge and information on here is superb.

Hi Sam and welcome. I wonder why there are so many new Scottish folk signing up today? No matter - everyone with an interest in motorhoming is welcome here.

If you could tow a caravan you will find the MH a doddle after about 10 minutes. The lovely quiet roads in the Borders will give you lots of practice in handling and you will soon be well on your way to new places. You will also appreciate how quickly you can be relaxing once parked up. We think a gentle 10 minutes from putting the brake on to sitting down with everything sorted and having poured a G & T with ice and lemon is about right.

Isn't retirement lovely - time to do what you want to do Laughing

Sue
