Got a call to offer us a house to rent today, right were we wanted to be with the spec we asked for too.

Why do I feel claustrophobic?

I know we will only be living there for a year-ish and then we will be back on the road but it is going to be soooo odd after 4 years in a van.

Bodie has never lived in a house ... she is going to get a shock Laughing

Hi

I have spent two nights in a house this week. On both occasions, I did not sleep well. The day light flooded in where as I am used to the motorhome being much dark and fairly well blacked out. I vouched this week no more houses for me!

Not with standing that though, I hope you like what you see.

Hi Stew ..... i can't! eek! The deed is done - 1st August. If you guys are in the vicinity anytime after that feel free to come round for a soak in the tub (only thing I miss when fulltiming!) Shocked

Hi Russell, to be fair, it is a lovely house, huge long garden, drive, 3 bed semi detatched in a great area and they are happy to have the dogs there - and it has a pantry cupboard and a separate laundry (always wanted both of those!!)

But ... it also has 4 walls and no wheels Crying or Very sad I don't work well in doors let alone sleep well. It is just too warm for me even without heating. Methinks I may take up having a large nightcap to put my lightsout each night Laughing

It is a perfect house - wrong time for me. If I had had this house 5 years ago I probably would not have been fulltiming now. However, the bug has now bitten me and I will never settle completely under a tiled roof quite as happily again. Hopefully we will be in and out within a year/18 months. Repair the van, sell it, travel to US, import another, sort out electrics etc, move in, sod off again!

Just can't wait!

Only good thing about having a house is that I am going to have my own veggie patch soon. I'll going to feel so like 'The Good Life' it'll be scary - ha ha.

Hiya D of wendick!

We are doing it to sell the van. It needs a few repairs and it it not possible to keep living in it whilst they are carried out so the plan is to

1 move into a house
2 fix the van
3 sell the van
4 keep saving
5 go to USA
6 buy a safari trek
7 import said trek
8 sort out electrics etc
9 move into trek

..... drive off into the sunshine again Very Happy Very Happy

Now we never do anything quickly so we estimate that by the time all this is done it will be about 8 months as some of the timings are beyond out control. So we reckon that in about a year we will be back on the road again - woo hooo, its a plan! Shocked

Hi

The problem is with full timing.....trying to sort out situations like this.

I am in the same boat as I have sold the Kontiki - probably going this weekend or the following one at the latest, and am then in a pickle! Fortunately, I have been offered the use of a Trigano - and as small as it is, I prefer that to the other option which is staying with Jenny (dog) at her apartment. I also have another friend who is happy for me to stay there.

You plans look very good Leigh. If I was doing what you are doing, I would consider a forward contract for the US Dollar.

Russell
