Hi, now that we are keeping our beloved MH we want to purchase a decent bike rack cover.

We are currently on our second fiamma cover, the first ripped and was kindly replaced by outdoorbitz and fiamma. This one has just started coming apart in some places which isn't suprising given the rough weather we've had. However we also have a problem with the fact that we seem to have lots of surplus material flapping around, no matter which way round the bikes are positioned or how many straps we put on it.

Can any one recommend a strong, durable (think that means the same thing) bike cover, we have an omnistor bike rack (used to have a fiamma hence the fiamma cover). We've looked at the oministor cover on line but the picture isn't that clear so we can't tell how strong it is.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I had the same experiences with those makes as well .

I have now used a Taylor Made ( as in Silver Screens) for 4 years. About 28,000 miles in all weather and a lot of motorways without any damage or problems.

I was good value and they made two and three bike models. I cannot recommend it enough.

Also very disappointed with the Fiamma. Very easily pierced by stands or any other projections. Ours is 4 months old and has holes everywhere.

Hi we have actually found a sturdy large barbeque cover to be the answer.

We don't use one:

Flaps around unless trussed up like a turkey
Dirt gets in underneath anyway and it gets humid in there -so more chance of corrosion
Any potential thieves will think we're hiding something more exciting than 2 aged Raleigh Shoppers
Probably aerodynamically unsound
Yet another thing to do when moving off or stopping to use the bikes.

Thanks for all the replies, I shall look at the options suggested. Thankfully the bikes are hooked up to our Strikeback alarm so that should deter any thieves but I hadn't consider the humidity.

Just a thought, I recently went to a local motorcycle dealers for a cover for my Bonneville.

They come in different sizes, and the one I bought is heavy duty and heavy, so far the wind has not blown it off.

Maybe a small motorcycle cover would last longer, and maybe when tied down will not flap so much.

I'm with Grizzly here. I find covers a waste of time and money. They take too much time to put on and don't keep the bikes dry or clean anyway. Lets face it, you cycle in the rain, so why worry. A plastic bag over the saddles is all we use. H

Hi, I've had a look at the Taylor Made website and theirs looks quite good. Do you know if it would fit over 3 bikes at a push? It's not often we have three but do sometimes.

Also I can't find a price anywhere, does anyone have any idea how much they cost?
