Install mobile Skype on your memory card and then you can always Skype family and friends, too, even if the application isn't on the internet cafe computer

Pete I also had the same problem with my 4 gig card it just will not work on my Dell XPS laptop running vista, however the card came with an adaptor and when the card was inserted my desktop computer did read it.
I believe it has got to be something with the high compression of the card
I also tried using the card on my desktop without the adapter and it did not work

I am guessing that you are talking about a Panasonic type SDHC card ... if so a little googling reveals that when they were launched they were not compatible with many ordinary SD card readers. I am guessing the situation is still the same ....You need to look for the SDHC logo on the reader.
You may find that a new driver will sort things out if the hardware supplier has one but don't hold your breath on that....if it was me I would just get a little USB reader that will do the job.
