Thanks Shane, for a moment I thought as predicted by the pundits, they had severed their agreement with Sky. Is this the prelude, I wonder, to joining BBC/ITV on freesat.

Excellent news. I have just checked the DTG site news and note this,
"Emma Scott, MD of Freesat said "We're extremely pleased to be completing the roll out of BBC and ITV regional services on Freesat. These services are hugely popular with viewers and compliment an already strong channel line-up. We look forward to welcoming more channels onto Freesat in the next month."
I highlighted the last sentence

Im an approved freesat HD retailer... so I get all the news first. Im personally glad there is an alternative to Sly now, even though I can't cut the cord with Sly as I like Discovery channel too much!
I'm sorry, I don't understand what these changes mean....Could someone explain please?

BBC/ITV freesat is a new service that is free. All you need is a free to air or freesat receiver. It uses the same satellite as Sky. In fact it uses a lot of the same channels as what you get for free on Sky. Only difference is channel 4 is encrypted on Sky and requires a card, freesat is free. Channel Five will be free on freesat later this year too (hopefully).
