I'm feeling quite smug just now having stuffed it up a self-seeking Oyster system last night! Very Happy Very Happy

Just as I was about to "Crank up" I noticed an Oyster dish erecting itself (as it were Embarassed ) on an enormous and very expensive American RV.

Rising to the challenge I was quite chuffed to have got a lock, and fine-tuned, while the Oyster was still nodding at intervals and rotating back and forth.

I wouldn't want to bad-mouth an Oyster system as I know nothing about them, but on the basis of this recent victory (nay, thrashing!) by a lowly Maxview Crankup, I would have to wonder if it's worth spending all that extra money?

Just for interest. Very Happy

Would the Maxview Crankup drop through the same hole as a Status ST530?

Or is the hole different size, would the offsets be similar from the inside wall of wardrobe?

Hello Zeb,

We were on the Cote D'Azur week before last , a German van was trying to seek a signal with a huge oyster dish. Took me about 20 seconds with our

.

Whilst we had locked on the Germans had to turn the oyster off from what I saw and re-boot. I think after 10-15 minutes he eventualy got sorted.

Spain won the Match too!

Ask Snelly - I'm not sure. Very Happy

I doubt it as the winding apparatus would probably foul the side of the wardrobe on most fittings I have seen.

You can get a bespoke cover plate for the hole left by a Status though, and it looks very neat.

Hope this helps a bit

Of course it is. He got you going and posting this message Smile

Is that the flat "dish", I think you've got to have flat and automatic to cut it now.

I mean Crank UP, do you go Beeeeeeeep Beeeeeeeep Beeeeeeep Dive Dive DIVE every time you use it ? So working class.

I think the pole comes through near the wardrobe door. But there is a lip on top of the Voyager roof so it might not fit.

This is the next project when get the van back, I think the crank up will have the same problem, both on top and inside the wardrobe.

Could alway mount in further inboard.

Thanks for the replies.

I mounted mine in the middle of the roof, carefully positioned so I could face the telly and reach up to the Crankup winder as conveniently as possible.

Works well!

Cheers
