A building (can be any age), enclosing the most boring sleeping rooms ever known to man.

No service and no facilities and sold at a very cheap nightly rate, except for the very night you wish to book when it's two or three times the price of the night before or the night after.

Ah, a bit like a prison cell then...

except without the cheap nightly rate/lack of shower related rape - good value given the cost of keeping scum in at night Wink

I stayed in one once - it smelt of wee??

Is that due to the previous posters suggestion? About the 99 before me ?? Wink

Hmmm... was that a prison cell or a travel-lodge J?

Hi

You must have played the Travelodge upgrade game. What you do is turn up at about 7.30pm and ask for a room hoping they are fully booked. You then look desperate and ask if they have anywhere they can recommend. The best upgrade I got was to a palatial room in a country hotel valued at £140, travel lodges were £29.95 back then and thats what you paid.

Got caught out a couple of times but had a big renault with lovely seats lol.

Vidura, thanks for your reply. We have'nt got the motorhome anymore, we sold it about a month ago (we had to) so feel really fed up, just visiting this site to keep up with what's happening in the world of motorhomes.

B*gger, what happened if you don't mind me asking?
What business are you in? I don't know if I can give any advice that would be of any use but I would at least like to commiserate if I can't help. I myself get a lot of suggestions that just never seem realistic when I complain of the work pressure and lack of relief. Sometimes there just doesn't seem to be a solution but things can be and have been made better for us over time mainly through distributing work loads and employing people who are able to take more responsibility - and buying the MH. Chipping away bit by bit.
I don't feel so weighed down anymore but having said that when I get a bit of space I go and fill it up by setting another goal for the business which puts more responsibility and work onto me! I guess I do this because I want to build the business to a point where I can sell it and be free of it!
all the best
Vidura

Hi Vidura, I didn't know you had replied again, the email notification must'nt be working. I will send you a pm.

Hi P&S and Vidura and Dux,

I'm glad I started this thread and got you guys talking.

I've been wondering how things are going with you P&S after your sale of the IH with all that it meant to you. I'm pleased that you still are able to come onto MHF but just wish there was more we could do in a practical way to help.

Please keep in touch and be assured there are MHFers that are rooting for you.

Andy

Hi Andy, thanks for those kind words. We are still hanging on in there, as the saying goes, but it's not easy. I want another van but I don't know what to do, It will just be more pressure on us if I get another but life with just the car is totally hopeless especially at this time of year when going out with the dogs. I see you have your van for sale now, are you going for the hymer, looks to be a good layout, hope you get lots of enquiries as your is a nice van. Best of luck.
Pepandspice.
