I have a 2008 Fiat Ducato Autotrail , and would like to fit a wireless alarm system [Gemini]. Is there any security or imobiliser already built in to the
vehicle.
Regards Tony.

Yes Tony. There is certainly an immobiliser, but you will have to wait for someone far more technical than me for the detailed information you will need to avoid any possible conflict.
I know there can be problems with the Canbus wiring - but "Canbus" is nothing more than a name to me. I try to learn just enough so I know when to back off and call in a man who really knows.

I think you have answered your own question?
IMO the best type/make of alarm would be a Vanbitz Strikeback. It does everything youwant and more besides.

Have to say.. I have had Strikeback before and it is a great system. current van came with an alarm system already fitted and it is not as good as Strikeback IMHO...

If you have a new Fiat, then it will have it's own security system integrated Read the owners handbook, and all will become clear.
Be careful to study it and remember the sequences of operation.
If you leave the ignition key in place and step out to fill with fuel/water/air/ etc. It is likely to lock itself within 30 secs, leaving you locked outside.
There are may permutations, and I have been caught out by a few, so make sure that handbook is carefully studied.

You will see that I am also in NE Lincs . Auntie Sandra and I had no qualms about doing a 580 mile round trip to Taunton to have a Strikeback alarm fitted by Eddie Vanbitz.
Because it was ordered through Outdoorbits, Vanbitz also fitted a Battery Master for free. They have a caravan site next to the workshop. It is one of the best sites we've ever used and one free night is part of the deal!
