We have just replaced our curtains, simply bought ready-made and my wife altered them to suit, price was reasonable and not too much work involved.

We decided to replace rather than just remove completely simply because we like to cover the screens Etc, also in the summer we do not use the Silver screens in the front, just draw the curtains which is a lot easier.

Embarassed well i have got to admit that after purchasing our swift capri from ebay my wife descided that the interior was not to her liking. yes youve guest it she made me re-upholster all seating , side panels , curtains the lot but i must say what a great result i even went one further and had the seating and framework all done in my own lindsay tartan (got from ebay) and yes i used the sewing machine to do the curtains in claret velvet complete with linings. i also descided to lighten up all the cupboards so i sanded them all doors.handles edges . and i used paint n grain. i realy recommend it just take your time and give it about 5 -6 coats of clear varnish if i dont say so my self i done a great job . oh she thins so to.
i have just fitted a flat screen tv thus freeing up work top space .

Hi Chuggs

Don't know about printed lining but you can get white lining from any good curtain fabric shop. If wnat to use that as you main curtain you culd attach a printed voile into the heading tape to make it all one.

I have just made new curtains for our VW camper.

Used suede look material with blackout lining for rear window and standard lining for the front (we use silver screens so it just for privacy if the screens are not up).

The rest of the windows have blinds so I have not bothered replacing the curtains there.

Cost less than £40 (though would have been much cheaper with less expensive material) and took about two evenings, so my advice is get a sewing machine or find a friendly old lady with one (not me though!).

Hello raine again - not gone just dont post as much these days - just lurking you may say.

Hi jeanann yep Ive seen the white stuff and may look into your idea but the whole beauty of the printed blackout is that it doesnt need lining therefore is not at all bulky. I like the idea of the single curtain that does both jobs - also its better for not absorbing the condensation. (I thought they were made from a floral incontinace sheet when I first saw them).

They are original fittings by AS so I should give them a ring but the style isnt to our taste. Embarassed

Remember seeing a cvan with unlined curtains - we could watch their TV all night. Shocked

I was also snooping round a new T5 Trident the other day and couldnt for the life of me see any blinds or curtains for the front windows!!!! Shocked
