You are driving in a car at a constant speed.

On your left side is a 'drop off', (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are travelling on).

On your right side is a fire engine travelling at the same speed as you.

In front of you is a galloping horse, which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it.

Behind you is a galloping zebra.

Both the horse and zebra are also travelling at the same speed as you.

What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

Reminds me of the choice I faced driving along a road along the top of the Croation island of Krk. On the r/h side were the craggy outcrops of the mountain, on the left was a sheer drop. Coming toward me was a lorry with bloody great wing mirrors who obviously did not want to go anywhere near the precipice. I squeezed over as far as I could go to the right and simultaneously scratched the r/h edge of the rear bumper on a rock and lost the l/h wing mirror to the lorry.

I was just thinking as I read this that it reminds me of coming down a very narrow windy mountain road from Bovec into Kobarid in Slovenia. Round the bend came a very fast minibus towing a trailer of kayaks.

There was a horrible ripping noise and we were convinced we'd stop to find a huge gouge down the side of the van.

When we stopped at the first safe place we could find nothing at all- not even a dirty mark. We still don't know what happened.
