Having just sold my 09/2007 3 litre manual Fiat because of Reverse Judder and Water Ingress problems I notice that current models arriving here in Australia, do have better engine water ingress protection and wonder if the Automated Manuals suffer from the reverse Judder.
I vowed that I would never own another Fiat, but after taking in the positives that they offer, I would contemplate buying another, now that the water problem is less, but ONLY if I could be assured that the Autos don't suffer from JUDDER.
I believe that they still use a dual mass flywheel and similar engine mounts etc. and can't see how the autos could be JUDDER FREE!
I would very much appreciate any feed back,
Regards, Bill

I believe the auto does not suffer from judder. However the judder problem is'nt necessarily due to the dual mass fly wheel as other makes eg Ford use them with absolutely no judder problem.

Thanks gelathae,
I too, realise that the Judder may not necessarily be caused by the dual mass flywheel, but it has been mentioned in various posts as a possible cause.
What I am looking for is a valid reason why the Autos do not Judder in the same fashion as the manuals.
Seeing that a lot of the the drive-line components are similar, one would imagine that a computer/electronic (?) sevo mechanism would not be as good as an experienced operator in operating the engagement of the clutch.
I could minimise the judder on mine by increasing RPM to around 1500 - Does the automated manual do this?-If so the clutch won't last long!
I appreciate your interest,
Regards Bill
