Hi, I have just purchased a 2002 CI Mizar GTL 2002, 7 berth on a Fiat Ducatto 2.3JTD. Has anybody got any experience of this Motorhome, good or bad. I cant seem to find any history on this model.

Welcome to the forum.

There are only a few of the model you mention on the roads, when compared to the likes of offerings from Swift and The Explorer Group etc.

Quite a few members do have other motorhomes from the CI group and I am sure someone will be along soon to offer input.

We have a CI Cipro 55 which has given us good service for three years. Looked for a replacement but as yet can't find one to match what we have already got

Hi,
WE have a CI Carioca, which is now the next model down from the MIzar. At the time that your was built the range line up was Mizar, Riviera and then Carioca with Mizar at the top, but now the Riviera has been dropped and the Carioca has been upgraded.
The CI range are quite solidly built and have a reputation for being bomb proof. Having said that the build quality is tough but style is not a match for their high class cousin Auto-Trail. They are built by Trigano in Italy who compete with Hymer for the title of being the biggest leisure vehicle manufacturer in Europe. Service and spares are through Autotrail.
In so far as what can go wrong, that is the joy of Motorhomes and caravans in that all of the fittings are universal, it is only the furniture that is custom built by the converter.
Simple point is that if you are happy with your new motorhome, don't worry about anything else. If it looks right and feels right then it is right.

We are seriously considering buying a CI Carioca 694, brand new. At present we own a Trigano Tribute 650 which is only one year old. This was our first motorhome after running caravans for 4 years.
The Tribute was a good intro to motorhoming but ,as it is a panel van ,it is of course compromised on space. The Carioca 694 is one up from the Tribute and would give us a bit more room and with its fixed bed, no more bedmaking up, and bigger lounging space, more important than we realised !
We have been offered a pretty fair deal, although as always not as much as I would really like, from the dealer that we bought the Trig from.
The slow depreciation has surprised us and is the only reason that we could consider changing.
The Carioca gives us that little bit more space and looks like the long term van for us.
Any opinions, experieces good or bad on this model and CI in particular would be helpful before the plunge is taken. August's Which Motor Caravan has a very favourable review of the Carioca.

We've just recently bought a new CI Mizar GTL Living and are extremely impressed with it.

Yes there have been one or two odd problems / teething issues, but I guess you can expect that with a new van - I personally put most of the probs down to the poor dealer handover we received!

I said I would never buy a new van (depreciation etc.) but having seen this vehicle it was too good a deal to pass by. I started looking at the NEC last year and have looked at / and in most vans (much to my other half's dismay!) - needless to say CI were for us the best option and to date I'm glad we did the deal.

We have the Rollerteam 600G , there are a few Rollerteam owners on here and we are part of the same group as the CI .

Friends of ours hired a CI 656 and then came home and got the Rollerteam 700 as they wanted a bit more space. We both love the vans she has had more trouble with hers than we have but then she hires hers out so I guess not everyone looks after things like you would your own.

I would love the Cipro but just need more room at the moment, I have looked around for a year now and not found a van to match it for what we want. Just need less children and a bit more cash. Sad
