Hi Folks
I would like to ask you all what price are you paying [total] for your 6kg calorlite gas bottles.
The reason I ask is that my local dealer want's to charge me a new rental on the lite bottle of £29+ the £18.55 for the gas within, me I'm not having that so I phone calor Cardiff to ask the cost for a direct exchange [6kg normal for a 6kg lite] , answer £18.55 sir. Thanks and then I complain, he told me to call HQ which I did they are now looking in to the issue.
So if you can give me some ammunition which I can fire at Calor HQ I would appreciate it.

Regards

Ron

I made the same inquiry at Discover, Portsmouth. I also was informed that I would have to purchase a new agreement.

I smell something ratty!! Twisted Evil

Hi

Calor told me that there is no rental charge if you have a bottle to exchange, my feeling is that these dealers can see a way of making an exta £29. What I see is greed and shame on them.

I got fed up up with the Calor rip off, and invested in Gaslow. No more humping heavy canisters, no more one sided contracts with Calor (Surely they're in breach of the Unfair Contract Terms Act?)

Refill when convenient, no waiting until the bottle is empty ....

It was said quite clearly when the Calor Lite bottles were introduced that you could exchange ordinary for the new Lite. I know someone who has done this. No new agreement required.

However they are about £2 more than the ordinary bottles. I paid £16 in round figures for my last ordinary bottle.

I also use Gaslow refillable. My MH has room for two 6kg cylinders so once you are setup with one Gaslow you can buy a connector pipe so as to refill the old type gas cylinder as well.
