Hi. I have received information from a normally reliable source that there is a new vicious virus attached to "Postcard" emails.
Could be a hoax but best not to open any emails with the subject "Postcard from a friend" or similar asking you to click on a link to view the card.
As I say, could be a hoax but better safe than sorry.
Cheers Sid

This has been out before and WAS a threat if memory serves. It's always better being safe than sorry.
Nice one Sid.

Guess what? It was our wedding anniversary yesterday. My daughter texted us in the morning from Australia to wish us all the best.
Half an hour later I was checking the email and saw I had a epostcard. Thought it was from my daughter and excitedly clicked on the link. And, as they say, the rest is history!!
had a massive virus attack, the Avast antivirus I was using was useless and within seconds it was reporting 3140 files infected!
Removal was totally impossible and the only option as I could see was a full system recovery (NOT System Restore). This involved reformatting the hard drive and losing all me precious little bits
I've now gone back to AVG free v8 as Avast appeared to be totally useless and could not cope, detect or disinfect the virus.

I too have Avast. I did have AVG until my computer guy put on Avast. After reading Spacerunner's posting is it possible to have two antivirus programmes running?
