Renewal time for campervan policy but I also have a separate car policy with the same company - does a claim on the car policy affect my NCD on the campervan policy?

You will have to ask but my understanding is that each vehicle is treated separately. This is why you cannot get a no claim discount on a new motor home policy on the basis of a car policy.

unfortunately ,you will find it will ,unless you have a protected bonus..if you have it will apply to car .not car and motorhome ,,when renewing your policy it is worded that its up to you to disclose all facts that could affect your insurance ..honesty is best thing here ..
coz if you don't mention .car claim .then have accident with motorhome .
they can refuse to pay out..and with comps it only takes them minutes to find relevant facts ..so for what you save on premiun ,by not disclosing ..could cost you ten times as much ,if your unfortune to have an accident with motorhome ...

We'll be purchasing our first motorhome soon and I'm finding the

insurance side of things confusing. We were planning on using my

husband's full no claims bonus from a car policy against the motorhome

and start again on the new car. Is this not possible?

Hi

My view is it is worth chatting with your insurer.

When I bought my first motorhome, the insurer "matched" the discount on the car policy.

The NCD applies individually to each vehicle. A claim on one will not affect the NCD on the other.

If you are insuring a motorhome for the first time the insurer will normally allow an introductory NCD if you have claim free years on your car insurance.
