Hi there,

We've recently started looking around for our first motorhome and have been quoted a good price on a Eura Mobil Terrestra 690 HB. It seems to tick virtually all the boxes and we're happy to compromise on things such as lack of oven and smaller fridge in order to get what appears to be a better build quality.

We've been caravanning for the last couple of years and have no idea who to contact for motorhome insurance other than the two main caravan clubs. We're both in our 30's, no claims or convictions and would ideally like to leave it on our driveway (although we do have a pitch on a Cassoa Gold storage site until towards the end of the year if need be). Also should we get a Phantom Tracker fitted?

Can you recommend any companies for us to get in touch with.

Thanks,

Claire & Matt

Hi

We have a euramobil, we use NFU for insurance, but there are numerous companies, if you look in one of the motor homing mags, you wil see a lot of adverts.
Hope you enjoy your euramobil, they are really excellent build quality Very Happy

Hi Claire and Matt, and welcome to MotorhomeFacts (and thanks for subscribing too! Wink )

If you go to the Subs Discounts page :: here ::, then you can see the large number of insurers who offer you a discount as a subscriber. With a premium in the hundreds of pounds, you could save plenty. Shop around - there's always a big variation in price, and check options. Some include full European breakdown cover.

Hi Claire and Matt,

Other things to mention are:

Some companies accept your car NCD on your motorhome.

If you intend to go abroad in it then make sure you get sufficent cover in time as wel as, breakdown, repatriation to UK....etc.

If you do not intend to go abroad then see if you get it cheaper, they may have already included it in the price.

A Cossa gold site will reduce you premium.

Look at the annual mileage, I say below 7,000. That is the highest I can go without increasing the policy. See what is their lowest.

Do not go with any straight away but ask more qestions as needed.

Good luck

Steve.
