I do not know if it is just my mailbox that is under attack or the whole of BT in a denial of service type of attack ...but my BT mailbox is overflowing with "delivery failure notices" and "undeliverable mail notices" ...some have attachments which I am sure will be nasties.. For some reason BTs usually very good Spam buster that puts these into the Bulk ( spam) folder is not working correctly and they are all in my Inbox ... loads of em or they were
So this is just a heads up for all those on BT ...If you too are getting them go to your webmail to delete them and do not open any.
Yes mike, We changed isp including telephone from bt two months ago now & again we go in our old e-mail address just to check & there's hundreds in there & not all of them are in our name

I'm with BT and not had any problems but then I usually open mine through outlook express and not the yahoo webmail.
Hi
Glad to hear you do not have the same problem... in fact my problem has now ceased ...the spams stopped just as mysteriously as they had started.
There were about 1000 or so of them and they all arrived within an hour or two, most went directly into the Bulk box ( spam) but some managed to escape into my inbox at the mail server
My tip of going to the webmail to clear them was to avoid letting any download to the computer, once you use Outlook Express they enter your system where they could cause damage if a virus were attached ( not a problemo if your AV software is up to date, but as there were so many I did not take the risk ).

I'm with BT but I'm not having the problem.
I haven't used Outlook mail for years, I leave all my mail on the BTYahoo site and write and reply to emails from there.
I do it so that I have access to all of my mail from whichever computer I use including mail I've sent and the replies.
Suddenly and intermittently I get a spait of mail similar to that you described.
I can go days without any then get hundreds over a 24 hour period. I NEVER open any but delete en masse. I use BT Yahoo broadband.

Any one else experiencing this?

Hi Mike,
I only get the odd one or two that slips through using Mozilla Thunderbird. I rarely use the web mail, as it is usually full of spam.
Jock.
