The lady at Comfort also said No to me and the reason I had paid my MHF subscription was to get the 5% off the policy (new customer not a renewal) - less than impressed Mad

A clear explanantion is required here as assuming that you were new business and got 5% off this would be a lower rate for when you renewed..unless they put it up again.

I think its a bit naff "assuming " people were always members of a club. I bet they dont ask when you phone..

Reg.

That's another non starter, I was initially with Saga and they wanted double the amount that Comfort wanted.

Dont get me wrong Comfort were by far the cheapest quote anyway.
Either Comfort give everybody a new business discount or the MHF discount isn't worth anything.

Posted in this section by the way as it is viewable to non subscribers. who may think twice about joining to get the 5% MHF advertised discount (which I would imagine would be more than the £10 subscription fee in the majority of policies >£200)

Oddly enough, I'm just off the phone to SafeGuard, renewing my policy. The lady asked, "And are you still a member of the Caravan Club?" I said, "No, I left, but I'm a member of MotorhomeFacts", thinking to myself, "Erm, she's gonna say 'What....?' ". She didn't though - just put it in the policy and said, "Fine", so I get my Club discount by being a member here.

I have just renewed with Comfort and think they're great. This year I didn't even ask for the MHF discount after last year's experience.

http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftopict-77343-.html

Nothing has been done in spite of lots of complaints about Comfort being wrongly included in the discount list, so I don't take MHF discounts seriously anymore.

Am I wrong?

Brian

I'm getting more and more uncomfortable with Comfort. We asked about the discount and received the same answer.
Won't be renewing with them again for all the other reasons that have been discussed on other posts lately.
