Hello people.
I've been scaning this w/site and now doing the decent thing.
My name is Dave and I live in London. Am just about to buy an elderly lady of a van.
She is a Fiat Ducato 'Eldis Elegance' and runs on LPG/Petrol. She is my first and I intend to practice with her and eventually hope to get a newer model.

We, too, bought the best van we could afford at the time, and tried motorhoming out for a year or so, including a trip around France and a trip to northern Italy and back. We decided that we loved it, and therefore, after viewing hundred of vans at shows and rallies, invested heavily in a motorhome that addressed all the problems we'd encountered with our previous one.
Good luck with your 'elderly lady'. There's a checklist to download (in the downloads section) for the day of pickup, and there's some Beginners' Guides for your perusal

Hi Dave welcome from the sunny (right now) North West! Best of luck with the 'new' mh, I'm sure you'll become addicted to the van and this site. Two big decisions: where to keep the mh and when to log on to MHF to stay in touch. Took us a year and a bit to find suitable storage but loggin on is a lot easier - first thing in the morning and last thing at night for me!
All the best and happy travels.

Well, I picked her up yesterday and, despite her age and mileage,. she toddled along along quite happily.
The Duchess (I'm going to call her that - thanks bandaid!).
I know it is early yuet, but she ticks all my boxes except that her steering isn't powered - but I knew that before.
Methinks I will experiment in this, whilst keeping my open for something similar, with the powered steering. But, I am happy, she is a good beginning for a virgin such as me.
