Can't seem to find any good books/web sites which list sites near pubs.
"pub nearby" appears in many books but some peoples idea of "nearby" is obviously different to mine!"
Any suggestions (apart from giving up the demon drink) welcome.

sensible (and important) question, sounds like another one that can be solved by people adding to the campsites database. Don't know if you can search that according to a specific feature though - perhaps moderators can answer that.
I have a CL next to a good pub to add to the database if I can just find the map reference for it (Goosenargh in Lancashire)

Hi Tek

So what would you classify as 'nearby'? 100 metres? Half a mile? Three miles?

You can always use one of the mapping sites to check for pubs in the vicinity, but then there's no guarantee that the pub will still be trading when you get there. I use

Not sure what I'd class as "nearby" - only know it always seems further and uphill on the way back!

I would class nearby as up to a mile away and like Gerald I always look up the area to see if there is a pub in the vicinity. Does not put us off a site if there isnt one nearby though.

Chris

You don't need to put the map reference into a database entry. If you don't know it, just leave it blank. Smile
