Here we are just South of Manchester, Alias "Rainy City". We were supposed to be in Grimaud this month but due to some Friends having to attend court as witnesses (though not needed as defendent pleaded guilty). That and the fact that my Wife had to re-arrange leave, here we are.

I am considering booking a flight for some Autumn Sun in October, anyone any suggestions where we could go under 2/12 hours flight?

Hi Trev, can't help on the flights bit but Surrey's certainly giving Manchester a run for its money as far as rain is concerned! My gutters have been overflowing, rain's made its way in the back door, the patio's covered in water and there's a small river running down the hill. Rolling Eyes

If you find a good deal let us know and maybe we'll all come after a summer like this.

Don't bother jumping on a 'plane to La Rochelle, the weather here at the moment has been awful BUT it has actually stopped raining now and when the 50 mph winds drop I'm sure it will be lovely Shocked

A 2.5 hr flight is a hell of a constraint for guaranteed warm sun in October. Without that constraint, I'd choose Turkey's Aegean coast. With it, well, Menorca?

Try Easy Jet, have booked for 5 Nov. Murcia from LGW under £113,
probably dearer now but if you can just do handluggage keeps price down, you will prob fly from Manchester?
