Hi folks I am writing this post on my new apple IPhone 3G and just want to tell you all how impressed I am with it. I am still trying to familiarize myself with all it's functions and features etc but it's reasonably easy to understand. It's quick too so all in all I can reccomend this phone. It will come in useful when touring in the motorhome and will be great if looking for campsites in the area. Has any other member got one and if so, what is your opinion? Sue

I had the original and then waited in line on launch day for the 3G version.

I'm a gadget freak and change my mobile phone every 6 months or so but I'll not be giving up my iPhone any time soon. It's the best handset I've owned it's great for staying in the loop whilst on the move and the maps stuff is great.

Just watch the international data charges - I got a bit carried away the first time I took it away Embarassed

Enjoy your toy! I've got my eye on the Sony Reader next!
-Mike

I must admit, I do miss MMS. I'm still holding out hope they'll add it in an update.

texting does take a bit of retraining and patience, but it becomes pretty natural after a while. Mind you, I spend about 12-16 hours a day at a PC in some form or another!

Yup, my only complaint, they don't take damage very well. I am on my 3rd iPhone 3G, and I also replaced the original iPhone too. Thank god for insurance!

The first generation iPhone I dropped on concrete and the screen shattered.

The first 3G I dropped into a hot tub, and let it dry out, but it never came back on.

The 2nd 3G, I dropped in the sea whilst taking seascape photod - it was INSTANTLY dead. Salt Water is always fatal.

The 3rd, was in my wifes handbag, and seemed to have drowned in "dog conditioning spray" - mutt perfume. Had wrecked the screen.

Lovely phones though, first I have been completely satisfied with.

Gary.

Agreed, none of my previous phones had an easy life either Very Happy Surprised i'm not blacklisted on the insurance databases yet! Have claimed at least 3 times a year for as long as I remember.
