The cheapest WiFi on a UK campsite that I have seen was at Rudding Park. It was something like
£5 per day
£30 per month
£110 per year.

I will be forwarding these prices to our favourite Camping Club who should only be paying around 25 to 30 per month for their WI-FI set up in each camp...
The reason I know, one of my son`s runs his own telecommunications business and was staggered when I told him what I had to pay on a UK camp site to use the wi fi.. rip off Britain again!

Stayed here http://www.camping-lesbreuils.com/ in August, superb little camp site, amazingly good value - look at the pitch charges, in a superb location within walking distance of Verdun town centre.
OH yeah...the WiFi was free!

PS I presume someone will now need to find a camp site that pays you to use their Wi Fi?
PPS I can only presume they make no mention of it on their website, so that the site doesn't become a geek summer conference venue

Two French campsites I know are free. Just go down to the cafe area or reception area and off you go.
Most I have paid is to Orange when using a mobile phone 3g or something. Over two weeks in June I managed to incur wap charges of £300 on top of normal costs. And all I did was check to see what the weather was going to be like. Should have just looked out the window.

I've stayed at camping Roquettas a few times and the WiFi is pretty good, it is their own system and was fitted when the long termers requested it. It is cheap, compared to some of the Spanish sites who use Delfynet or other big providers, which is expensive and often unreliable. The site I'm on now uses an Ethernet cable system is 25euros a month and traffic limited to 3gb a month. I for one think it is overpriced and fortunately have a USB booster and can pick up an open channel from outside the site

Further to this some sites do have an open channel usually near reception or the camp bar and sometimes both. If you plan to use WiFi it can be a good idea to have a wander around with a WiFi detector or your lap top to check for open channels and then try to get a pitch as near as possible and in line of site.
A USB booster can be bought for around 40euros and can soon pay for itself.
