Hi Everyone and especially Pelicanpate

I am also looking to purchase a Concorde Charisma on the Iveco Daily 65C18 chassis the model I'm looking at is a Charisma 890M

I have found your posts really interesting especially your god reports on the Charisma as looking at them I also think they will be the ideal vechicle for our long term needs

Do you know what typical fuel economy do you get from yours ideally both pre and post the remapping which I also would like to do as I have done the similar to our current Hymer also transforming the van

Many thanks for your help

Regards

Wiggy

I am thinking of getting the above vehicle, so I would be very interested to hear peoples' views on the weight situation given it will have a car on board, the length of the vehicle (ferries etc) and whether - in view of what we have read so far - I should go for manual gears.

One other question: am I being naive here? Why, given the enormous cost involved in buying these A class vehicles, don't people involve solicitors at an early stage to look at the contracts etc as you would do for a house?

I would very much appreciate some advice.

Glad my comments might have put some 'balance' into your quest for a Concorde.

Hi

I have found your comments extremely useful. Is it possible to PM you? I can't see the PM button for you.

Hi I notice one of your members has had problems with an Iveco 65 c17 on a Concord Carisma body fitted with auto transmission, I have expierienced for new when you put the vehicle under any type of load, or steep incline the unit clonks and stalls this can be a bit embarrasing to say the least, with only 5600 miles the clutch is now slipping, I notice a member has has simular also a member has had there vehicle remapped, did this also involve the transmission, has anyone had a simular problem, and has anyone got a tecnical fix or suggestion? thanks Summo

Hi Ian
I have had two Concorde Charisma and I have had a grate deal of trouble with both. The current one is on the Iveco 65C17 chassis with automated manual gearbox (Agile). Problems have been with both the habitation element and the Iveco element. I dont want to go into too much detail here as I am currently in the process of suing the supplying dealer. However I have sent you a PM with my phone number if you would like to know more details.
Problems with the habitation area can be sorted but with regard to the Iveco chassis/drive train the vehicle has been with Iveco for over a year now and still it is not right. I have been told of others experiencing the same problems including one Carthago also on the Iveco chassis but Euro 4.
Hi I own same vehicle have problems with auto transmission, when under load it cuts out example any incline ie onto ferry struggles to drive up, at the weekend i had to reverse up a drive, it took several attempts and now the clutch slips in 5th and 6th and drops out into neutral have you had simular problems Tony
