"The guy has come back again today with a bucket full of cash, wants to buy the motohome now, don't know what to do"
On the Fiat stand....
"Yes there were some reports of judder but this was only on the 2007 models, it been reduced on the 2008 models, and will not be on the 2009 models"
On the Blankput Stand...
"The reason you cannot switch to reversed view in the menu on the blankput lucca, is because the motorhome manufacturer fitted a front view camera and not a rear view camera. It's not a Blankput problem it's a converters problem, speak to them"
The dealer wil not be licences under the new money laundering legislation to accept cash over the base figure with all of the reporting that goes with it
Accepting the cash in such circumstances will be a criminal offence.
Oooooh if you ever fancy a new job you could be MoHoFacts chief earry wigger. Kinda like a blood hound with seeking stuff out only with your ears and not your nose if you see what I mean.

Salesman not as daft as you thought
Absolutely agree, salesman wants the sale, but cannot accept the cash.
not true no law against paying as much as you like in cash, it just has has to be reported to relevant authoritys, if its yours legit theres no problem, try buying a camper off a pikey with a cheque, you wont get very far.
Of course the cash is still legal tender and of course it can still be accepted but to be able to accept it
The dealer must be registered with the OFT
The dealer must appoint a reporting officer, train his staff and undertake due diligence identifying the client and keep records and report any movement over €15,000 cash
Some dealera are refusing to take cash and will not register on basis that there is no need if the money is alreday in the banking system and the banks have acted as gate keeper.
If you do not register and then take cash it will be an offence
If you are registered but don't report or get sufficient due diligence ie passport and utility bill it is an offence
On basis gypsies certainly won't have any paper work, won't be registered, won't do due diligence and would not keep 5 year records I think we can assumje any transaction with a traveller will breach the regulations
A follow on from the money laundering rules re cash deals, I recommend to my clients who are car dealers, (or anybody who is likely to do a cash deal, but car dealers would be the most likely, and I don't have any motorhome dealer clients ) that they do not do cash deals over £10,000 (approx), or they would have to register with all the related rigmeroll.
