Talking of which, that goal by Beckham, he really stepped up his game for that one.

... and further, it is NOT off topic, it is suggesting you don't need to spend the money at all.

... and normally I'm quite happy to be called a joker, but not when it's said offensively

Not offensive just making you aware I was looking for an answer from some very knowledgeable people...
I did not need the thread Hijacked, I received one answer to my question and this is at odds with an answer I received elsewhere,
if I had the chance of members answering MY question I would have felt comfortable ordering and buying the requirements I am seeking.

Hi

Step rings allow the attachment of different size filters and accessories to a lens. Step rings are available in step up and step down rings. To determine which type of ring you need, always start with the filter size that fits on your lens and then compare it to the filter size you want to adapt. If the filter size of the lens is smaller than the filter size that you want to adapt, then a "Step Up" ring is needed.

Hi Graham

To be honest I wasn't sure, its been twenty years since I used cokin filters. I put in a google search - cokin do I need a step up or step down ring and that led me to

https://www.vistek.ca/store/CameraFilters/232559/cokin-r35x37-355mm-to-37mm-conversion-step-up-ring.aspx

hope it helps

I think you need to buy an adapter ring for each of your lenses that has a different filter diameter.

See here... http://www.cokin.com/ico2-p1.html
