I still favour the Full membership, with a numbered membership card with access to all areas and all offers, discounts and deals. and associate members, able to log on and take part in all the forums, chat rooms etc.
Let the associates see what they are missing in order to get them to take full membership.
This way there is no "elite", just 2 levels of membership.

(Nuke I will email the quotes, with full description. samples in my possesion and will post when you say so.)

I think £15.00 is an acceptable figure, given that it is not compulsory.

Crikey, I’m sure there are a lot of people that have saved themselves money, by reading the info, and asking questions here.

Small price to pay, but it could save you a lot.

It's cost me a fortune, getting all the bits and pieces, but would have come a cropper without them

in the 5 months since i joined MHF i have donated 2 years subscriptions and expected to do the same in the next 6 months or so.

i am totally opposed to subscription sites and as soon as i see the word 'subscribe' i move on. i know several other people who do the same. so if the site had been voluntary subscription when i first found it i wouldn't have joined.

the membership numbers will show if i am on my own.

'them and us' is an inevitable result of a voluntary subscription policy. it's already rearing it's ugly head and can only get worse.

i've enjoyed my 5 months on MHF but don't want to watch it self destruct so i won't be logging on again.

Hi Smifee
everyone has their opinions, but remember this is a totally voluntary scheme, and another of the reasons i implemented this is i dont like taking voluntary donations, at the end of the day it goes into my pocket and i would rather be giving the people who make these payments (yourself included) something for their money rather than just access to the site.

Please dont take this to heart and keep coming back to the site.

I promise their will be no cliques or anything, the membership of mhf is a friendly bunch as u know and i dont think it will descend to that at all, i intend to steer it from strength to strength to provide an even better resource for our members Smile

Hi Nuke

First of all please accept that I am writing in this thread with the best of intentions.........

As I don't know what the private messages are saying I can only hazard a guess, but your reply above does lead me to think that some folk are very worried by the subscriptions and the implications of them to the "atmosphere" in the site. Smiffe's post has me worried too, he cannot be the only one who feels like this and I always found him to be a pretty laid back member of MHF. I wonder why the folks sending private messages to you are not posting in this thread? I do think that the Optional/Voluntary subscriptions has opened a can of worms for you. What can you do? A U turn is not on is it...so why not just get rid of the Crowns and any other public displays of subscribing.

Mike
