After an early start today, a drive through rush hour traffic and some hard work from the installer, the Camos is fitted. I opted for the 40 cm static version.
It is very early days and I have only used the auto satellite search function twice, once after installation and once on arrival back here. Time to lock is very quick indeed and the signal strength/quality when looked at via the "services" menu on the SKY remote are the highest I have ever seen.
I will, as with the previous motorhome and the Oyster add some reception reports as we travel about.
I was very undecided as to whether to go for the Camos or another Oyster. Two factors influenced my decision. One was price and the other was the ability to use the Camos during windy weather. There were too many times tha the Oyster had to be closed in the past.
On the downside, I do not know whether the Camos will work at Lake Garda for ASTRA2D signals - ie BBC and ITV. I will report on this as soon as possible.

You will be out of the foot print for the free to air progs
I bought the Camos with the view that ASTRA2D might not be seen or heard at Lake Garda and for that purpose would use a cheap manual dish from a shop at Garda. Chances are I could leave it on the campsite for my next visit.
On the other hand, it might work based on other peoples' experiences and reception reports. The Oyster 85cm is not supposed to work at Garda for BBC and ITV according to footprints. It is horses for courses like many things.
Due to Jenny not having a passport, my next long trip is to Scotland for eight weeks. Envisaging wind and so on on the West Coast, the Camos will be fine. For the sake of a few weeks at Garda, it is worth the compromise. This morning for instance, if I had an Oyster, I would be lowering it due to the gusts.
Time alone will tell.

You are right about the wind in Scotland. We were up there for 8 nights a few weeks ago and we put the dish down every night incase the wind got worse. We could still watch the TV but it was worrying at times.
On our next van I might save up a bit more and go the dome route, does it look ok? and did they mount it abover the fridge?
I would intrested to know how you get on travels with it.
